This video shows how youth in america can be redeemable and shouldn't be judged off of their past. This Ted Talk relates to Twelve Angry Men because the jurors were debating over a case of a troubled 19 year old and whether or not he was guilty of the murder of his father. There were many biased opinions on whether he was guilty or not because of his past. He has been convicted of stabbing someone before and has had a hard past so many jurors believed he was guilty before they even had a chance to talk to each other. He could have been trying to change his ways and not follow the path he was on but the jurors wouldn't have guessed that because all they saw was a hoodlum teen who had two alibis witnessing the murder of his dad. Juror No. 8 was the most reasonable person in the entire script because he didn't let the past of the teenager affect his decision. He used the facts provided to make his decisions and the facts helped the boy out very much. He proved many theories wrong with factual evidence that he proved in the court. He said he wanted to do away with lock 'em up and throw away the key mentality. He was essentially saying everybody deserves a second chance and do not jump to conclusions. This video relates a lot to the script of Twelve Angry Men because it shows the prejudice beliefs of some people in America and because of those beliefs many peoples lives can be ruined. Overall, do not judge a book by its cover. In other words, do not base your judgement on a person because of their past or what others say/believe about them.
